Imani Jackson
Founding Teacher Leader
Imani Jackson is a National Board Certified teacher and has taught for almost 20 years. She has a background of volunteering with special needs students as well as students whose native language is not English. Initially, Imani was going to major in Special Education at Hood College but was introduced to French immersion education which married her love of teaching and the French language. During her time at Hood, both in undergraduate and graduate school, Imani did a lot of research into how to narrow the teaching-learning-achievement gap and found that immersion was one way to do so. She then spent fourteen years teaching French immersion kindergarten in a highly impacted local elementary school. Throughout her time there Imani served on many curriculum design committees as well as becoming an equity coach and a National Board Certified Teacher. Upon leaving Maryland she was introduced to the beauty of Montessori education through her daughter who currently attends a local Wildflower Montessori school. She graduated from Prepared Montessorian with her Elementary I-II degree in 2023. She will be working towards her certification in 2024.
